Fortnite x Marvel Crossover Concept Art Is Their Coolest Collab Yet (2025)

As Marvel heroes collide with the world of Fortnite in the hit video game’s latest season, Marvel Comics is set to release a new variant series celebrating their incredible pop culture collaboration. The inventive crossover allows the new characters to hop off the battle bus and officially descend into the Marvel Universe.

As announced by Marvel Comics, in honor of Fortnite’s latest in-game Marvel collaboration with Chapter 5 Season 4’s Absolute Doom theming, four all-new variant covers have been officially released by Marvel Comics. The covers act as striking and bold character portraits for the Fortnite and Marvel superhero mash-ups, including Peelverine, Captain Jones, Meowtooth, and Ghost Ri-Durr.

The character combinations mix classic Marvel heroes and villains like Wolverine and Sabretooth with Fortnite’s original cast of characters like Peely and Meowscles. From skins and NPCs in the game to gracing these gorgeous covers, the Fortnite collaboration with Marvel shakes up both brands.

Fortnite And Marvel's Latest Collaboration Takes The Best Of Both To The Next Level

"Absolute Doom" Available Now

The new Fortnite season being celebrated in the variant series is focused on the character that Marvel themselves have been prioritizing lately, Doctor Doom. The season has been titled Absolute Doom for his dominance over Fortnite’s updated map, with new locations like Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, and Castle Doom, where you can fight and steal powerful weapons from a Doombot boss. Doctor Doom in Fortnite seems to have defeated the Fantastic Four for the time being, making disrespectful trophies out of their remains, like turning The Thing’s rock body into a throne and making a fireplace with the Human Torch’s heart.

Though Fortnite consistently puts the real comics versions of Marvel characters in the game, their latest mash-up characters put a fun new twist on classic heroes and villains. Peely becomes Wolverine in the first major part of this crossover, who was teased first as a back-bling to those who attended a D23 event inside of Fortnite’s servers. Peely is a giant banana person that has received many variations over the years, and now becomes the latest and strangest variant of Wolverine. Peelverine is joined by Meowtooth, a fitting mix between Logan’s famous rival and a bodybuilding cat character named Meowscles.

The game’s character designs for skins, especially for Marvel, are often lauded for being top quality and quintessential visualizations of every figure they’re based on, and may be opening them up to a more broad audience than they would originally be exposed to. Though they may be pulling from various franchises and also Fortnite’s own internal story points, the narrative ultimately comes together for everyone equally.

These new Marvel variant covers perfectly blend the publisher’s legendary heroes and villains with Fortnite’s well-established characters that are beloved by fans.

Fortnite

Fortnite took the world by storm on its 2017 release, and it’s still one of the most popular battle royale games in the world despite stiff competition from Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone. Like all games in the genre, the objective is to be the last player standing at the end, and one of the biggest differences is its tie-in characters from Star Wars and other popular franchises.
The game has fast-paced gameplay, and players must rush to find weapons scattered throughout the map. Where it differs from other Battle Royales is the building mechanic, which allows you to build fortifications to protect yourself from enemy fire and delay advancing opposition.
Fortnite didn’t have a split-screen mode in its official release, and Epic Games only added the feature in Chapter 2. The mode allows up to two players to enjoy the game in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Split-screen in Fortnite is available for Duos or Squads, so you can play with friends at home and team up with online players.
