Obituary
Bradley “Brad” Linn Mellies was born on a hot and sunny July 1, 1989, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Vernon and Rose Ann (Linn) Mellies. Brad was baptized into the Holy Christian Church a week later at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota, where he was also confirmed. He received his education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 2007. After graduation, Brad attended St. Cloud Technical and Community College in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he received multiple degrees. The first degree he received was in plumbing and the second was in his true calling, diesel mechanics. During college breaks, Brad followed his Grandpa Virgil’s footsteps and spent three summers custom combining crops. He started each season harvesting in Vernon, Texas, and combined his way up to the Canadian border. After Brad received his degree, he spent four years in Williston, North Dakota,as a diesel mechanic fracking in the oil fields.
Brad was united in marriage to Mary Doehling in February of 2018. Brad and Mary resided on a farm in Winthrop, Minnesota, where they began raising hogs. He was very proud of his hog operation, Oinker Farms. Another one of Brad’s passions was diesel mechanics, which led to owning and operating his own truck repair business, K&M Diesel, in Glencoe. After their marriage ended, Brad continued to reside in Winthrop, managing his hog operation and working at his repair shop.
Brad passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the age of 34 years old.
Blessed be his memory.
Brad is survived by his:
Parents, Rose and Vernon Mellies of Stewart, MN;
Brother, Clinton Mellies and his wife, Angie of Hutchinson, MN;
Beloved Niece and Nephew, Brooke and Logan Mellies of Hutchinson, MN;
and was loved very much by his larger family including his Linn and Mellies aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Brad is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Frank Linn, Virgil and Delpha Mellies; Uncles, Henry Mellies, Charles Mellies, Ronald Mellies; Aunts, Marlene Mellies, Marilyn Mellies; Cousin, Mardell Hill.
When the sudden passing of a loved one, such as Bradley, changes the course of lives, we are left in a state of bewilderment and grief. Some things do not make sense, and death just seems so unfair. However, we are immensely thankful for all the stories, memories, arrangements and generosity shown to us in our time of loss. Our wish is that you take the love, joy, and happiness you received from Bradley and spread it to those who touch your life. God Bless.

Dear Rose and Vernon~
It is with the most sincere sympathy that I send this note. I am all too aware of how painful it is to lose a beloved child, no matter what their age, and I know the disbelief and sorrow you are feeling. There really are no words that can take away your pain, but I hope knowing that so many of us care, and are praying for comfort and peace for Brad, as well as you and Vernon. I hope that all the precious memories you have of Brad through the years, will help you keep him alive in your hearts forever. God be with you at this very difficult time. You are in my thoughts and on my heart~ Jo ReckReply
